Our certifications are designed to validate knowledge, support career advancement, and promote best practices across various ISO and regulatory frameworks.
No, you can directly purchase without registration.
The process depends on the level of certification you purchase:
For Essentials, Foundation, Practitioner, and Special Course exams (e.g., DPIAS, Remote Work, Transition), the exam is available immediately after purchase. You will receive instant access and can begin at your convenience.
For Professional and Lead level certifications, you will receive an exam application form via email after purchase. Once you submit the form, our team will review it and provide instructions to schedule your proctored online exam. You will have up to 1 year from the date of purchase to complete your exam. For Lead level certifications, we recommend that you submit the exam application at least 5 business days before the day you plan to take the exam.
Lead Certifications
Include 150 questions, 180 minutes, and experience verification. Designed for professionals who want to implement or audit management systems. Proctored online (human).
Professional Certifications
Include 100 questions, 120 minutes. Advanced knowledge required but no experience verification. Proctored online (automated).
Practitioner/Foundation Certifications
Include 50 questions, 60 minutes. Provide introductory-level understanding of a specific topic or standard. Open-book.
Essentials Certifications
Include 20 questions, 60 minutes. Provide introductory-level understanding of a specific topic or standard. Open-book.
Practice exams are exam simulations designed to help you prepare for the official certification exam. They include a randomized pool of 70 multiple-choice questions allowing you to assess your knowledge, identify areas for improvement, and become familiar with the exam format. Please note that you are eligible for a maximum of 10 attempts for each practice exam purchased.
Foundation/Practitioner and Essentials exams are open-book.
Professional and Lead exams are closed-book and proctored online.
You will have up to 12 months from the date of purchase to take your certification exam.
Upon successful completion, you will receive an official TRECCERT certificate and digital badge. For Lead and Professional-level certifications, once your experience is verified, your certificate will be issued.
To maintain your TRECCERT certification, you must submit a CPE (Continuing Professional Education) report and pay the corresponding Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) or Three-Year Maintenance Fee (TMF). Maintenance confirms your ongoing professional development and keeps your certification active. Foundation/Practitioner and Essential level certificates do not have any maintenance requirements, aside from abiding with the TRECCERT code of ethics.
Yes. You may retake the exam under TRECCERT's retake policy. Please contact support for information about retake fees and scheduling.
Yes. TRECCERT certifications are recognized internationally and reflect adherence to ISO, data protection, and regulatory compliance standards that apply across industries and regions.
